About This Museum
This virtual museum started as a fleeting thought several years ago. Later, the idea kept returning and I couldn't make it go away. After a while, it was a little voice nagging me ... Lotus Museum, Lotus Museum. I conceived it as a way to celebrate the exemplary company that was Lotus Development Corporation, where I had the good fortune to work for 11 wonderful years. Being a sentimental pack rat, I still had many items of Lotus memorabilia that would provide a starting point .
After a while, the little voice got louder and I could no longer ignore it so I began to make plans. In the beginning, I didn't have the tools I needed to build it - a color scanner and a digital camera. But in 2005 I replaced my old printer with one that could do color scanning and the following year Santa brought me the camera.
In the fall of 2006 when AXLE (the Association of eX Lotus Employees) announced that 2007 would mark the 25th anniversary of Lotus's inception - and they were looking for ways to celebrate - I knew it was time to make the Lotus Museum a reality. In January 2007 I registered the domain name lotusmuseum.com. Michael Wilson, President and founder of Camelback Web Architects, and a former Lotus colleague, graciously offered to sponsor this site - for which we are eternally grateful.
The rest, as they say, "is history."
